I am NOT a reader. I can read fine, just don't enjoy it much. However, "Journey of Desire" led me on a journey into my own heart, history, and identity that created a hunger to read more each day.Chapter 11 was a very revealing chapter for me, and one I knew I would need to reread many times as I continued to walk out my daily adventure with the Father.
I enjoyed this book but its rather uneven. Eldridge tries almost too hard to avoid how-to's, making his message muddled at times. But regardless of that, he beings a useful and refreshing perspective to the questions of passions and desire in the context of Christian discipleship: stating that passion and desire are at the heart of true discipleship.
This was a very illuminating book for me. I only wish in my old age that I could remember all the wisdom found in this book. Be sure and read the Sacred Romance before you read this one.
This is an amazing book! John Eldrige just writes in an easy to relate and understanding way. Our heart matters to God. We tend to squash our real deep down desires as life takes a toll on us over time, this helps go after them again with the help of God!

A great read and a fierce reminder of the importance of desire and the journey that we all must go on to fully embrace it.
