It's okay. It shows and says colors. Some weird examples of the colors, but colors nonetheless. I think it would've been better if they'd presented them in a sequence that made sense. Firstly, the buttons on the right side you would think would correspond to the page with that color...1st page red, second either green or yellow...etc. But no, you're hunting for the color on the right that corresponds to the page. Also, I wonder why he didn't put them in rainbow order so they would have an easier transition learning about mixtures of colors? And finally, as another reviewer also mentioned, really weird that the last page "review" of all the colors leaves off half of them. Seems like it wasn't a very well thought out book.
The voice sounds tinny and canned and computerized. I don't even think it's a person, it's like your car navigator's voice but with even less personality. I've thrown this series of books away in favor of the ones that make animal sounds because the words are pronounced so weirdly. After a few weeks, one of the three books stopped working altogether and a second had the volume go down to a barely audible level, and this was certainly not from over-use. We read the Einstein animals book constantly and it still works great.
Purchased this book for my 12 month old granddaughter. I only had to show her twice how to use the buttons. Even though she is so young she does know how to push buttons on her interactive toys that she has had since she was old enough to be proped up in the corner of my sofa.I sat her on my lap with this book and because she is so little I simply showed her to use her thumb to press the button; she did and loves to sit with me and play (learn her colors).
As a former nursery school director and child care provider and mother of two grown sons, I have witness first hand the benefits of early learning. You can teach children from birth and these simple color books are an easy way to teach the names of colors and objects. I bought this book for my niece and she loves it, my brother says. The photos are charming. It is a good gift to give a new parent and child to help learn their colors. Children can learn their colors by age two. The Freakanomics researches indicated research shows that intelligence is related to how many books are in the house. Love to give books as a present for young children.
LOVE these books!!! My son has a collection of them (numbers, words, colors) and played with them incessantly before he began to speak. I believe they were very helpful in teaching him how to say the words as he got to push the buttons himself (sometimes, much to my chagrin, repeatedly - like hundreds of times, over and over....) but he loved them and was so entranced that he wouldn't even get upset when I had to leave the room (for my own sanity)
we had to return this product because the batteries leaked and damaged the contacts. When its an old book with batteries that is sealed, there is no review to make sure the product still works.
Mt son (1½) has all three of these books and they've been a great addition to our learning library! Each page is dedicated to a single color and has numerous items in that particular color on the page. This makes it great for not only learning colors, but other everyday items as well. The push buttons are bright and the voice says each color name loud and clear. There are times when he just doesn't want to sit with me and go over his colors and numbers, so these books still allow him to HEAR the word without my having to be there to say it to him. Overall, I definitely recommend this and the other two books in this collection. They've been a fun interactive way to teach my son his colors!
Came in good time frame. Packaging was fine. Grandaughter enjoys these books very much. We actually interact over the video chat with these books too. I'm sure I'll be purchasing more in the future . Great books, ty :)
