I always buy Fodors because they have great info, and a reasonable amount of pictures to help get you excited about the trip. All my other Fodors books have some pictures. This has none. Its quite disappointing. They other problem is that this book is nearly a decade since printing! So lots of the hotel and restaurant info is out of date. Fodors needs to get this updated.
We bought the Fodors over the competitors because of the name and the good information we have used for our travels throughout the world. I didn'nt realize this book was published in 2009. Obvisiouly, some information will be the same now but prices, operating times, etc. might be very different. Plus, new restaurants and hotels are not in this book. We will update this review when we get back from Europe this summer!
As expected, Fodor's continues to provide accurate, reliable and helpful information. Have tried other publications but find Fodor's to be the best of all.
I'm sure this is a fine book, but I was looking for info on Iceland and was very disappointed to find Iceland not covered in this book, I blame the navigation tool in Amazon for pointing me toward this when apparently Iceland is not part of Scandinavia. I suppose I could have sent the book back but too much trouble. I went to bookstore instead to find what I was looking for.
One of the main reason I like to buy Fodor's guides is because there are a lot of color pictures, unlike Fromar's. But for whatever reason this one doesn't have any pictures at all other than the introduction of each chapter. Was a bit thrown off with that. The information is still great and there are maps, just don't expect to see photos like other Fodor's.
