Have listened to Dr Kevin for over 20 years on radio, computer and focus on the family, his wit and love of GODS people shine through.As an only lonely, this book is spot on, also my wife is the middle of 4 children, and this book dissects and nails the order, the pecking order, the favorites and so on, you'll love it, and share it and quote it often.Hebrews 11:6

This was an impulse purchase at a big box store and I had to buy a couple more for friends. It's an easy read, yet really accurate. I laughed all the way through it - at the positive and negative attributes. (I'm an oldest child and this book was pretty spot on.) I have found this helpful in family life as well as business.

First of all due to the bell shaped curve of most things this book is not conclusive for all. That said it the book is wonderfully informative and most who read it will find the explanations helpful. My wife really enjoyed this book as it provided a lot if insight.

My hubby and I are both first borns. Little did I know what I was picking up when I went to the library so many years ago! I swear it was better than any therapy for marriage! I read it, then had him read it right away. We were both like...OHHHHH!!!! That's why you do this, that's why I do that...it was AWESOME! We read it when we'd been married 5 years....now married almost 20, I swear out of everything I've read on everything this stands out as a very favorite for understanding why we do what we do! I now buy them in bulk to give for wedding gifts (along with a gift card ofcourse;) HA!

Have given this to many people and they all are fascinated by the info inside. Even those who pleasantly said thank you were lauding how helpful and interesting the book is in figuring out why people in their families do what they do. A great gift, esp for those who like to know how people tick.

This is such a fun and interesting book. I've shown it to many people. All of them are interested to know why they are the way they are. Recommended to anyone who is interested in exploring their own personality.

As a young Mom I read his first book in the 80's. Some of it stuck and really helped and some of it I am sure I forgot to be careful of. Now as a parent of 4 adult children and seeing how this all plays out is even more fascinating! His updates are great because at the original publication time he only had 2 children-now with 5 he has a lot more to say and even more insight. Best part: at the end of each chapter are tips for parenting that specific birth order child.Great gift for someone just starting their family or even someone in the middle of the throws of child-rearing. It really would work best if they have the information before the patterns are set though!

Easy to read book that will help explain you, your family and your children. Highly recommend this book for anyone who has a child, and especially those who have middle children.
